A 7.1-magnitude earthquake hit Yushu County in the Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Qinghai Province, China April 14，2010, causing severe casualties and property loss. Latest statistics show that the death toll has risen to 760, 243 people were missing and more than 10,000 were injured.
