Chinese Visa Application Service Centre (CVASC) will begin its operation on 26th of June, 2008. Chinese ordinary visa applications are required to be submitted to the CVASC from then on.

The Chinese Embassy will begin to accept ordinary visa applications on the basis of online appointment only from 26th of June, 2008. Such acceptation of the due visa application will last for a period of time till the date announced by the Chinese Embassy and the CVASC through the due websites when all ordinary visa applications will have to be submitted to the CVASC.

The Chinese Embassy will open its online appointment service on 23rd of June, 2008. An appointment can be made according to the instruction on the website www.chinese-embassy.org.uk, by simply clicking "visa/online appointment for application of visas". The date and period of time of submission can be chosen one month ahead. Failure to appear at the Chinese Embassy on the date and time chosen will lead to the invalidity of the appointment. However, instead, the due application can be submitted to the CVASC either by post, or in person with or without an online appointment.
