Xi Jinping Accepts Credentials from New Ambassadors of the UK and Eight Other Countries

At the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on 14 April 2015, Chinese President Xi Jinping accepted credentials from new ambassadors from the UK and eight other countries. They are H.E. Charles Enoch Namondwe, Ambassdor of Malawi, H.E. Jean Pierre Mbazoa, Ambassador of Central Africa, H.E. Tau'aika Uta'atu Ambassador of Tonga, H.E. Barbara Janet Woodward, Ambassador of the United Kingdom, H.E. Theerakun Niyom, Ambassador of Thailand, H.E. Dolana Msimang, Ambassador of South Africa, H.E. Shakhrat Nuryshev, Ambassador of Kazakhstan, H.E. Kim Jang-soo, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea and H.E. Brian Stuart-Young, Ambassador of Antigua and Barbuda.

Xi welcomed the new ambassadors and asked them to convey his sincere greetings to the leaders and people of their respective countries. The President said China will continue to promote friendly and practical cooperation with their countries and work with them to safeguard world peace and promote common prosperity. President Xi said the Chinese government will provide facilitation and support to the ambassadors as they fulfill their duties in China and looks forward to their contribution to the bilateral ties and friendship between the people of China and their countries.

The new ambassadors conveyed cordial greetings from the leaders of their respective countries to President Xi. They wished China prosperity and lauded China's increasingly important role in international affairs. The ambassadors said that China's development is an important opportunity for the world. Their countries attach great importance to their relations with China and appreciate and support China's "Belt and Road" initiative and the establishment of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank. The ambassadors regarded it as a great honour to serve in China at this important historical time and pledged to work hard to promote friendship and cooperation between China and their respective countries.
