Wang Yi Meets with Vice Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung of Vietnam
2019/11/27

On November 27,2019, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi met in Beijing with Vice Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung of Vietnam.

Wang Yi congratulated on the positive results of the meeting between the heads of delegations of the Sino-Vietnamese governmental border talks and the consultations between the Vice Foreign Ministers.

Wang Yi said, next year marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Vietnam. The relations between the two parties and the two countries are in a critical period of connecting the past and the future. The two sides should remain true to our original aspiration of carrying forward the traditional friendship between China and Vietnam, bear in mind the strategic orientation of China-Vietnam relations and the historical mission that we jointly shouldered. We should implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two parties and the two countries, enhance mutual trust, strengthen cooperation, and properly resolve differences. We should take the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations as an opportunity to push the China-Vietnam comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership to a new level.

Le Hoai Trung said, Vietnam-China relations as a whole have maintained a positive momentum of development. Vietnam is willing to work with the Chinese side to implement the consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, jointly organize activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, maintain the momentum of exchange of high-level visits, and properly manage differences. We should promote the integration of the "Belt and Road Initiative" with the "Two Corridors and One Circle" plan, so as to push ahead the development of bilateral relations.
