2019/09/23

On September 23, Vice President Wang Qishan met with Solomon Islands' Foreign Minister Jeremiah Manele in Zhongnanhai.

Wang Qishan said, on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, it is of great significance for China and Solomon Islands to establish formal diplomatic relations. The recognition of the one-China principle by the Solomon Islands' government is a correct decision in line with the trend of world history and reflects its strategic vision and political courage.

In recent years, the relations between China and South Pacific countries have made headway and the prospects for the future are broad. Solomon Islands is an important ocean island country in South Pacific region.
