Wang Qishan Visits the Zimbabwean Embassy in China to Mourn the Passing of Robert Mugabe

On September 12, 2019, Vice President Wang Qishan visited the Zimbabwean Embassy in China to mourn the former Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe.

Wang Qishan stood in silent tribute in front of Robert Mugabe's portrait and wrote an inscription on the condolence book. On behalf of the Chinese government and people, Wang Qishan expressed his deepest condolences to Robert Mugabe's passing, and extended his sincerest sympathy to the Zimbabwean government and people and relatives of Robert Mugabe. Wang Qishan said, Robert Mugabe was a prominent politician and leader of the national liberation movement in Zimbabwe and Africa and had made outstanding contributions to promoting China-Zimbabwe and China-Africa friendship. The Chinese side cherishes the traditional friendship between China and Zimbabwe and is willing to work with the Zimbabwean government and people to promote the continuous development of China-Zimbabwe comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership. It is believed that under the leadership of President Emmerson Mnangagwa, the Zimbabwean people will certainly turn their grief into strength and continue to achieve new and greater achievements in the road of achieving national stability, construction and development.
