Wang Yi Holds Telephone Talks with Foreign Minister Karin Kneissl of Austria

On February 5, 2018, Foreign Minister Wang Yi held telephone talks at request with newly-appointed Foreign Minister Karin Kneissl of Austria.

Wang Yi congratulated Karin Kneissl on the assumption of her new post and noted that Austria is an important member state of the European Union (EU) and also serves as an important cooperative partner of China in the EU. China-Austria cooperation enjoys a great tradition as well as sound accumulation. China appreciates and welcomes the active willingness of Austria's new government to value and develop its relations with China. China is ready to jointly promote China-Austria relations to new highs together with Austria.

Karin Kneissl thanked Wang Yi for his congratulations and extended her wishes to the Chinese people for the Spring Festival in advance. She expressed that attaching great importance to its relations with China, the new government of Austria hopes to strengthen high-level exchanges between the two countries and deepen practical cooperation between the two sides in various fields.
