Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov of Russia Exchange New Year Congratulatory Messages

Upon the coming of the new year of 2018, Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov of Russia exchanged new year congratulatory messages.

Foreign Minister Wang Yi expressed in the congratulatory message that in 2017, under the strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and President Vladimir Putin, China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination has been developing at a high level and yielded a series of new outcomes. The two countries have constantly deepened strategic mutual trust, promoted the improvement and upgrade of practical cooperation, maintained close coordination in international affairs and made important contributions to advancing world and regional peace, security, stability and development. In the upcoming 2018, China is willing to continue working with Russia to implement all the important consensus reached by the two heads of state on all fronts, constantly deepen international strategic coordination of the two countries, and showcase the responsibilities and duties as major countries, so as to make unremitting efforts in pushing the building of a new type of international relations featuring mutual respect, fairness and justice and win-win cooperation as well as in building a community with a shared future for mankind.

Sergey Lavrov said in the congratulatory message that in 2017, Russia and China continuously deepened the comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination. The Foreign Ministries of both countries closely coordinated with each other regarding the most extensive international issues, which has effectively safeguarded the interests of both countries, pressed ahead with the joint initiatives and propositions proposed by both countries, ensured balanced development in global and regional agendas and is conducive to establishing a fairer international order. Russia is willing to continuously make joint efforts with China to make new contributions to deepening strategic partnership between the two countries as well as further strengthening Russia-China international coordination.
