Yang Jiechi Meets with Foreign Minister of Tanzania and Foreign Minister of Venezuela Respectively

On December 20, 2017, Member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and State Councilor Yang Jiechi met at Zhongnanhai respectively with Foreign Minister Augustine Philip Mahiga of Tanzania and Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza of Venezuela.

When meeting with Augustine Philip Mahiga, Yang Jiechi expressed that China has always viewed China-Tanzania relations from a strategic height and long-term perspective. China stands ready to, together with Tanzania, further intensify exchanges in various fields, strengthen experience exchanges in state governance and administration, continuously improve political mutual trust, actively deepen practical cooperation and enhance coordination and cooperation in international and regional issues, so as to well safeguard common interests of both countries and developing countries.

Augustine Philip Mahiga expressed that Tanzania and China enjoy profound friendship, with fruitful results of cooperation yielded in various fields. Tanzania warmly congratulates on the successful convening of the 19th CPC National Congress, highly praises the Belt and Road Initiative and the philosophy of common development proposed by China, and is willing to be the best cooperation partner of China.

When meeting with Jorge Arreaza, Yang Jiechi introduced the relevant situation of the 19th CPC National Congress. He expressed that China and Venezuela have consolidated political mutual trust, increasingly deepened economic integration and enjoyed sound coordination in multilateral affairs. China attaches importance to developing China-Venezuela relations and stands ready to jointly push forward bilateral relations with Venezuela to bring tangible benefits to the people of the two countries.

Jorge Arreaza congratulated on the successful convening of the 19th CPC National Congress. He expressed that regarding China as a prior cooperation partner, Venezuela stands ready to actively participate in the "Belt and Road" construction, further enhance friendly cooperation with China in various fields and maintain strong development momentum of bilateral relations.
