Zhang Dejiang Meets with Prime Minister Xavier Bettel of Luxembourg

On June 14, 2017, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) Zhang Dejiang met with Prime Minister Xavier Bettel of Luxembourg at the Great Hall of the People.

Zhang Dejiang said that since the establishment of diplomatic relations 45 years ago, the two countries have always upheld the partnership spirit of mutual respect, equal treatment and win-win cooperation, and achieved fruitful outcomes from practical cooperation in various areas, setting an example of friendly cooperation between countries with different territories, populations, social systems and development stages. Today, President Xi Jinping and Mr. Prime Minister reached much important consensus, charting the course for the development of China-Luxembourg relations. The NPC is willing to take the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Luxembourg as an opportunity to, together with the Parliament of Luxembourg, further strengthen communication and cooperation, consolidate political mutual trust, create a sound law and policy environment for practical cooperation, build the bridge of civil communication, and propel bilateral relations for a better development.

Xavier Bettel expressed that he is glad to visit China as Prime Minister of Luxembourg and had in-depth discussion with Chinese leaders on bilateral relations and international issues. Luxembourg stands ready to further propel Luxembourg-China relations for a new development.

Wang Chen attended the meeting.
