The first ever Oriental Fashion Show in the history of Bristol University, presented by Chinese Society. The University of Bristol Chinese Society, the largest cultural society in the Students' Union, presents the first ever Bristol University Oriental Fashion Show- "The Forbidden City- A Mythical Tale". The show will be held at the Anson Rooms in the University of Bristol Students' Union Building on Friday 2nd and Saturday 3rd December, at 7.30 p.m. Tickets are priced at £9, and includes an after-show party at El-Puerto Spanish Lounge Bar and Warehouse Night Club. Tickets will be available from Monday 28th November, at Hawthorns Refectory. Held in aid of the Asian Earthquake Appeal launched by British Red Cross, 'The Forbidden City' is not to be missed! The traditional Chinese costumes modeled include those from award winning films such as 'House of Flying Daggers', 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon' and 'Hero', traditional wear ranging from the Han Dynasty to modern-day China, the traditional dresses of some of the 56 ethnic groups in China, and even traditional Chinese underwear! In addition, there will be Asian traditional costumes from India and modern western fashion from Cooshti and Reiss, as well as performances from all around the world, such as the traditional Chinese dance, the famous Chinese Shaolin Kung Fu act from the martial art theatrical show 'Wheel of Life', Belly dancing and the Latin Salsa.
