H.E. Mr. Song Zhiguang, born in April 1916; Native of Guangdong Province of China; University Graduate.

1950-1957 Second Secretary, First Secretary and then Counsellor, Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the German Democratic Republic.

1957-1964 Deputy Director General, Department of Western European Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs(MFA)

1964-1970 Counsellor, Embassy of the People's Republic of China in France

1970-1972 Counsellor, Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the German Democratic Republic.

1972-1977 Ambassador to the Court of St. James

1977-1982 Assistant Minister and concurrently as Director General of the Department of Western European Affairs, MFA

1982-1985 Ambassador to Japan

1985-1995 Vice President, China-Japan Friendship Association.

Consultant to the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National People's Congress.

Member of the National Committee of the Seventh Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).

Married with two sons and one daughter.
