Ambassador Liu Xiaoming: We are leaving the UK today as I complete my tour of duty as Chinese Ambassador.

We have been here for 11 years.

It is indeed an honour to be the longest-serving Chinese Ambassador both in the history of China-UK relations and of all Chinese ambassadors of all time.

I want to thank all the friends who have cared for and supported China-UK friendship, and provided support and assistance to me in my work!

I will cherish the memories of our time in the UK.

No matter where I am or what I do in the future, I will follow China-UK relations and I will always be an envoy for China-UK friendship.

China and the UK are great countries with time-honoured history and splendid culture. Both are countries of global influence. A sound and stable relationship is not only in the interests of our two countries but also conducive to world peace and prosperity.

It is our sincere hope that China-UK friendship will last forever, China-UK cooperation will become deeper and wider, and China-UK relations will go steady and go far.
