Minister Counselor Zhang Lirong on 30 Years of China's Reform

ON 3 DECEMBER MINISTER COUNSELOR ZHANG LIRONG MADE A PUBLIC SPEECH ENTITLED "CHINA'S 30 YEARS OF REFORM AND OPENING UP AND ITS PROSPECT" IN THE LONDON SCHOOL OF ECONOMICS AND POLITICAL SCIENCE (LSE). OVER 200 PEOPLE ATTENDED.

ZHANG LIRONG FIRST INTRODUCED BACKGROUND AND DIFFERENT PHASES OF THE REFORM AND OPENING UP. HE INTRODUCED GREAT ACHIEVEMENTS THAT CHINA HAD MADE IN ITS 30 YEARS OF REFORM AND OPENING UP BY CITING PLENTY OF FACTS AND NUMBERS. HE ALSO INTRODUCED DIFFICULTIES AND CHALLENGES CHINA IS FACING. HE ENDED BY INTRODUCING CHINA'S DEVELOPMENT PLAN AND PROSPECT IN THE NEXT 10 TO 20 YEARS. HE SAID THAT CHINA WOULD ADHERE TO THE POLICY OF REFORM AND OPENING UP. WITH INDUSTRIALIZATION AND URBANIZATION CHINA'S ECONOMY STILL HAD STRONG VIGOR FOR FURTHER DEVELOPMENT. ITS SOCIAL WELFARE WOULD BE CONSTANTLY IMPROVED AND POLITICAL REFORM PROGRESSED.
