|The Chinese Embassy in the UK Participated in Spring Fair of Diplomatic Missions|
On 15-16 May 2007, the Chinese Embassy in the UK participated in spring fair of diplomatic missions in the UK sponsored by International Social Service(UK) in Kensington Town Hall, London.
ISS UK is a charitable institution organized by the British women at the upper class, which has huge influence in the UK. As one of its major annual events aimed at raising money for philanthropy, the 48th charity fair of diplomatic missions drew over 100 embassies in the UK this year.
Giving prominence to the theme of Olympic Games 2008 and combining with Chinese traditional handicraft articles, publicity book and Chinese cuisine, the bazaar of the Chinese embassy in the UK attracted lots of diplomatic envoys to the UK and local people to watch, select or have a taste. The jubilant booth decorated with Five-Star Flags, red lanterns, Chinese knots and firecrackers as well as the woman staff from the Chinese embassy dressed in national costumes who introduced the Chinese traditional culture and current developments warmly and attentively won the wide acclamation.
Chinese ambassador to the UK H.E. Mme. Fu Ying went to the fair in person. British princess Alexandra was present at the bazaar as the patron.
The Chinese embassy in the UK contributed the charity sales to the organizer after the fair ended.
