Ambassador Zheng Zeguang Presented the Copy of His Letter of Credence

On June 17th, Ambassador Zheng Zeguang presented the copy of his Letter of Credence to Ms. Victoria Busby, Director of Protocol at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and Vice-Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps.

At the meeting, Ambassador Zheng stated that China and the UK are both countries of global influence. A sound China-UK relationship is not only in the fundamental interests of both countries and peoples but also conducive to world peace, stability and development.

The Ambassador stressed that the two sides should follow the principles of mutual respect, equality, inclusiveness and mutual learning, and step up cooperation in battling the pandemic, addressing climate change and promoting global economic recovery and other areas, so as to deliver benefits to the peoples of both countries and beyond. He said that he looked forward to working with the UK Government and friends in all sectors to deepen mutual understanding and promoting mutually-beneficial cooperation.

Ms. Busby extended warm welcome to Ambassador Zheng. She said that the UK attaches importance to its relations with China and that the two sides should work together to move the relations forward, and the UK side will provide facilitation and assistance to the Ambassador in performing his duties in the UK.
