Embassy Spokesperson's Remarks on So-called "Second Hearing" of "Uyghur Tribunal"
2021/09/14

Question: The so-called “second hearing” of the “Uyghur Tribunal” has concluded. What is your comment on it?

Embassy Spokesperson: As the Chinese side has repeatedly pointed out, the so-called “Uyghur Tribunal” is a pseudo court with no legal basis or authority whatsoever according to international law. It’s so-called “hearing” is an anti-China farce based entirely on lies and disinformation. It is a front for political manipulation by certain anti-China elements to smear China, mislead the British public and disrupt China-UK relations. The Chinese side strongly condemns it.

Living in today’s Xinjiang with a thriving economy, a stable society and ethnic solidarity, people of all ethnicity support the government’s policy wholeheartedly.

We hope the British people of all walks of life will see through the intentions of certain China-bashers, including those behind the so-called “Uyghur Tribunal”, resist their misleading attempts and deny them any platform for their manoeuvre so as to avoid creating new obstacles for China-UK relations.
