On August 15th, the Ministry of Health reported the findings of the inquiry on “some infants’ premature pubescence allegedly caused by Syrutra milk powder”. Experts from Beijing Center for Disease Control and Chinese Academy of Inspection and Quarantine found that the three cases of premature breast growth in Hubei Province had no connection to the Syrutra Yubo infant formula, as no excessive hormone content was found in samples of Syrutra or other tested milk powders currently sold in the market.

Medical tests indicate that the above mentioned three infants in Hubei Province could be only diagnosed as having simple premature breast growth, which is a common clinical case. In addition, the clinical information obtained by the Ministry of Health from specialist children's hospitals in China show that there is no abnormal increase in the cases of similar premature growth among children in recent years, and among the children diagnosed as being prematurely pubescent, the proportions of those breastfed and those fed with milk powders are roughly equal.
