Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Liu Weimin's Remarks on the Chinese Government's Task Force Going to Sudan to Handle the Incident of Attack on the Project Site of Chinese Company

Q: It is learned that the Foreign Ministry has sent a task force to Sudan to handle the incident of attack on the project site of a Chinese company. Please confirm.

A: The Chinese Government sent to Sudan on the evening of January 30th a task force which is led by the Foreign Ministry and participated by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council. The task force is to assist the rescue work in Sudan. China calls on relevant parties to keep calm and exercise restraint, ensure the safety of the Chinese nationals and release them as soon as possible on the basis of humanitarianism.
