Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Jiang Yu's Remarks on China's New Emergency Humanitarian Assistance to Pakistan
2010/08/13

Q: The flooding in Pakistan has been worsening lately. Will there be more assistance from China?

A: As a close and friendly neighbor of Pakistan, China feels as much pain as Pakistan does and would like to continue to assist Pakistan within its capability in order to support the Pakistani people in overcoming the disaster at an early date. The Chinese Government has decided to provide to the Pakistani Government additional emergency humanitarian assistance of RMB 50 million, including materials of urgent need for Pakistani such as tents, blankets, grain and water purifying equipment, which will be delivered as soon as possible.
