Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Geng Shuang's Regular Press Conference on October 24, 2017

At the invitation of Premier Li Keqiang of the State Council, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev of the Russian Federation will pay an official visit to China from October 31 to November 2. Premier Li Keqiang will co-chair with Prime Minister Medvedev the 22nd Regular Meeting between Chinese Premier and Russian Prime Minister.

During Prime Minister Medvedev's stay in China, President Xi Jinping will meet with him. Premier Li Keqiang and Prime Minister Medvedev will co-chair the 22nd Regular Meeting between Chinese Premier and Russian Prime Minister in Beijing and attend the closing ceremony of the China-Russia Media Exchange Year. Chairman Zhang Dejiang of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress will meet with him.

The mechanism of Regular Meeting between Chinese Premier and Russian Prime Minister serves as an important platform to coordinate the planning for and guide the development of practical cooperation and people-to-people exchanges between the two countries. It plays a significant role in ensuring the high-level development of the China-Russia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership of Coordination under the new circumstances, expanding bilateral practical cooperation, and deepening people-to-people exchanges.

At present, under the strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and President Putin, the China-Russia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership of Coordination has been developing at a high level, with ever deepening cooperation across the board. Through this meeting, China hopes to further align the development strategies of the two countries, expand and deepen cooperation in the areas of economy and trade, investment, energy, aviation, aerospace, transportation, agriculture, sub-national and people-to-people exchanges, and promote collaboration in the emerging fields of small and medium-sized enterprises, the Far East development, the utilization of the Arctic routes, and digital economy, so as to create new driving force for the common development of the two countries.
