On 28 February, Charge d'Affaires a.i. Zhu Qin of Chinese Embassy in the UK met with the visiting Secretary for Transport and Housing of Hong Kong SAR Professor Anthony Cheung Bing-leung, GBS, JP at the Embassy.
Cheung gave an account of the economic and trade cooperation between Hong Kong and the UK, with new opportunities for cooperation in maritime transport and aircraft leasing in particular. He said that Hong Kong was willing to use its own advantages to play an active role in the "One Belt and One Road" Initiative and China-UK cooperation.
Zhu fully recognised the important role of Hong Kong as a bridge and bond in China-UK cooperation, and encouraged Hong Kong to seize the important opportunity of the "One Belt and One Road" Initiative and the "Golden Era" of China-UK relations, so as to make new contribution to deepening pragmatic cooperation in various fields.
